It is the 4th of July weekend where we celebrate our freedoms in the United States. The United States is in turmoil in this election season. The United States is experiencing anger and division, fear and rage as we undergo surprise attacks, election rhetoric, and disagreements between many. Knowing this about my country makes me sad.
However~ I am so grateful to be an American. When I enter a grocery store full of fruit, vegetables, and other healthy options I know I have much to be grateful for. As I enter my church each Sunday without being watchful for sniper fire I know I have much to be grateful for. I have the freedom to enjoy nature; mountains, lakes, streams; incredible beauty surrounds me in my state of Oregon. As my Daughter in Love is just days away from the birth of her son she knows that her medical care will be quality care with a good Dr. and many faithfully kind nurses who will celebrate the birth of this little boy. These things remind me, even with the knowledge of unrest, that I have so much to be grateful for. I hope you feel this way as well, I hope you continue to be grateful for America!
Happy 4th of July, 2016.
